Generally 5,000 miles. The reason is that, in general, some full synthetic oils are meant to do their job really well for a shorter amount of time, in that case you shouldn't surpass 3,500-4,000 miles. While some do their job decently but also last a bit longer. The reason for this is how the oil was actually built; there are many "full synthetic" compounds, and as long as specific requirements are met, they can call the product full synthetic. So, in Texas, driving conditions (heat, heavy traffic, and types of oil available) the safest suggestion is 5,000 miles per oil change. Hybrids are not affected by this rule.
Because we offer Amsoil Signature Series. When looking at how many miles an oil is good for the usually just put a single number. Maybe that number is 10,000 miles. When there is a single number, that is only in ideal conditions. So if we lived in Hawaii and the temperature was around 80 or less all year, and you only needed to drive 10 miles a day, and there was no traffic on your drive, then that number holds up. But when you have any harsh conditions to add, life goes down. So if you live in Houston and you drive 30 minutes or more one way, and it's 100 degrees, and you're in heavy traffic. It all adds up, and you typically need to cut the mileage in half. I trust Amsoil because, in ideal conditions, it lasts up to 25,000 miles, 15,000 in harsh conditions. It also has all the additives and detergents you need to keep your seals as optimal as possible, which means they last a lot longer, and clean your engine so deposits don't create additional wear and damage.
A lot of reasons. For starters, it depends on whether it's a true hybrid or a type of hybrid assist. That is the main difference in the longevity of oil. A hybrid-assisted engine still lasts longer with no concern about condensation and fuel dilution. But because the engine gets up to operating temperature, and the engine doesn't turn off while driving, the oil doesn't last significantly longer. But a true hybrid where the engine shuts off consistently will make your oil last far longer, that is why they usually have a % of oil life instead of miles. Because of the additional concern around not getting to operating temp, I use oils for hybrids that are meant for hybrids to help with engine health.
