Why we have pride in our product
We only do what is worth doing, so our product has to be the best! That's why our flagship item is our Amsoil Signature Series oil. Here I will give a brief breakdown of why oil is so important, and why not all oils are the same.

Purpose of engine oil
Engine oil exists for several key reasons. Lubrication to keep metal from touching other metal, dissipating heat created from friction, and cleaning away the soot deposits from ignition. As engine oil ages it breaks down at a molecular level, providing less lubrication and heat dissipation. The soot also circulates and slowly builds up, that is why used engine oil is dark.
Lubrication
There are a lot of moving parts in your engine, each one of these touch together and cause friction which causes heat and wear. What engine oil does is get in between the moving parts to prevent wear and take the heat away from the engine. Virtually all engine oil can do this well as long as the oil is still fresh, how long it stays fresh is decided by what the base oil is made up of and what additives assist the oil life.

Engine Aging
Other than the typical process of aging affecting oil quality, 2 others to consider are fuel dilution and soot deposits. If your oil doesn't have a good enough detergent to strip away the soot, your engine pays for it with unnecessary damage to primary engine components. Fuel dilution occurs when the engine does not maintain operating temperatures long enough to burn away fuel lining the ignition chamber. Slowly this wears away at the oil lining and mixes with the oil, The more fuel, the worse the damage. So if you're asking the question "how often should I change synthetic oil" these all play into the general consensus among mechanics in Texas, generally try not to go over 5,000 miles per oil change, but you should get an oil change each year regardless of miles driven.
Why Amsoil?
Amsoil has a history of being performance driven and being the go to for vehicle enthusiasts. What does that mean for your vehicle? Engines almost never go to the mechanic for issues with the bearings (which is what engine oil was originally built to protect.) So Amsoil made their oil to protect against everything else as well. Longer lasting oil, typically twice as long or more than other full synthetics mean you get an oil change half as often. There are additives that prolong the life of your seals and gaskets, detergents to clean away the soot from your cylinders and other tight areas, the best cold crank viscosities, and fluid that binds between metal to significantly decrease friction and general wear. So you go further without issues, saving money and time by paying a little more to get a lot more. Common questions are "how often should I change synthetic oil?" and "what kind of oil should I use?" It depends on your situation. Please reach out with any questions we may be able to help with!
